[English] "Assassin's Creed IV: Perfection or a waste of time?"

The new game of the well-known franchise, Assassin's Creed, which has brought its producer, Ubisoft, many awards, has been arising many debates among the fans of the assassins: is it a good idea to continue with the fantastic storyline, which mixes historical facts with the old Order? Or it is a better idea change its ways, because it's becoming repetitive and boring?

(Isn't the basic recipe of showing the deaths of real characters in the Order's point of view a little... overused? - "Final moments of Cesare Borgia", via Assassin's Creed Wikia.)

Seeing for the first point of view, the one which supports the sequel, the game provides the player general knowledge. From an almost real Geography to a storyline loyal to historical facts. Because it isn't every day when you can be an ally to one of the most wanted pirtes by that time, Blackbeard, right?

The game also provides open-sea adventures and a pirate-like lifestyle - similar to the one found in the previous game, where the character Connor would control the ship Aquila - a trait which has received a good appraisal from most players.

On the other side, players are also getting tired of the gamestyle. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is the sixth installment of the series - not including the PS Vita versions - and keeps the same controls, the same way of climbing buildings and trees and the same attacks since it's first game, from 2009. Maybe an innovation in the moveset of the next Assassin would do just fine, eh?

The Whales Case

Recently, the last game has also arised controversy. Animal rights group PETA ("People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals") criticized scenes of the game where you could find whale hunting. In defense, E3-acclaimed producer Ubisoft, replied:

"We do not condone illegal whaling, just as we don't condone a pirate lifestyle of poor hygiene, plundering, hijacking ships, and over-the-legal-limit drunken debauchery."

Anyways, the sequel to the Assassin's saga looking for the "pieces of Eden" will depend on the fans and control innovations, once the storylines, since the first game, are loyal to real historic facts.

And personally, if it depended on me only, this franchise will go far: why not an Assassin's Creed: Industrial Revolution?
